Weekend Finds

This weekend I headed down to Edinburgh visiting the Antique and Collectors Fair at the Royal Highland Centre. I was really excited to discover that Bargain Hunt was being filmed there. I would love to go on this programme but have the slight problem that I wouldn't want them to show it on national telly as I am quite camera shy. Saw both teams in the centre checking out the delights the stalls had on display and stood next to Tim Wonnacott whilst he browsed at one of the stalls, he looked very dapper in his blue bow tie. The fair was great fun and I wanted to buy so much but when I saw these items from Villeroy and Boch's Acapulco range I had to have them. I adore this pattern but find it hard to come by so when I saw it on Saturday I was very excited. I also managed to pick up matching cups and saucers.

On the way home we visited Ikea for a very quick look and I am glad we did as I found this lovely tray and beautiful napkins. I know they are not the usual weekend finds we show you but they are so cute I just had too.

Weekend Finds

Our weekend finds are back and here is the first for 2012. We have cheated slightly and added in two Hornsea 'Springtime' canisters that we found during the week but we love them so much we have pictured them again.

Hornsea items were our biggest finds this week with the 'Springtime' canisters and the striped kitchen items. The cups at the front are made by Seltmann Weiden Bavaria and are beautiful. We also came by the Ercol table which looks great in our livingroom so may be a keeper! Whilst browsing through a warehouse this weekend we found this Smith Corona electric typewriter. We have never bought an electric one before but this one, with its wood effect surround, seemed to call to us. Look out for our new finds on our website soon.

Goodbye 2011

First thing's first, a happy new year to all of you, we hope you all had a great time over the festive period.

It has been a while since we have blogged as we have been so busy with the Arresting Event at the Academy, our web site and of course Christmas.

2011 has been an exciting year for us as it was the year we set up Cushie Doo Vintage. In six months we have gone from joking with each other about setting up a vintage web site to actually doing it. It has been hard work but a lot of fun.We took part in our first vintage fair in October and then throughout December we traded as part of a pop up shop. We have found some amazing items in some bizarre places but the days out "treasure hunting" are always something we look forward to. We have been sad to let go of some of our finds but it's always great to hear the stories about why people have purchased items including a husband who bought a Pyrex rolling pin after breaking his wife's original one which she'd had for over 40 years.

This year will bring its own excitement as we are in the process of designing our new logo and being involved in some more vintage fairs which we love doing. To keep up with our latest finds and activity keep checking the blog or our Twitter account.
